See on map

The trail follows the scenic Gravlev Valley, passing by several of the area’s famous springs: Ravnkilde, Gravlev Kilde, Egebæk Kilde, Lille Blåkilde, and Kovadsbæk. It circles Gravlev Lake, offering sweeping views of the open landscape. Along the way, you’ll cross safely and dry-footed under the Hobrovej road via the 76-meter-long Undervejsbro – a small attraction in its own right.

A highlight of the trail is the passage over REGAN Vest – the former Cold War nuclear bunker, hidden 60 meters underground. Above ground, information signs help you understand the site's dramatic history. From here, you'll also enjoy stunning views towards the Rebild Hills.

The trail also features Skillingbro Limestone Quarry, a mythical stone row, and an ancient “troll forest.” The recommended starting point is at the Rebild Centre, where you’ll find exhibitions and visitor facilities.

Selected experiences

A hike along the Gravlev Valley Trail can be combined with a visit to REGAN Vest – the Cold War Museum housed in a former nuclear-proof bunker.

Note: Tickets must be booked in advance at https://nordjyskemuseer.dk

The Rebild Centre is also well worth a visit. Explore the Cold War exhibition and take a walk in the Thingbæk Limestone Mines, where the sculptor Anders Bundgaard’s artworks are exhibited inside the mine tunnels.

The trail’s culinary highlight is Rold Storkro, offering high-quality lunch, coffee and cake, or dinner in cozy surroundings.

If you’re simply thirsty, you can refill your bottle with the purest spring water straight from Ravnkilde.
